Guys, I need some help. My new tranny has the old linkage bar cut, and the retaining collar wont budge. Lokar ACA-1801 - Lokar Column Shift Linkage - Overview - SummitRacing.com will this bolt over the collar? the piece that's cut was the part that has the linkage rod to the column. I got the nut off for the kick down, its that damm collar right behind that then the "bar".
Bear, I believe the piece that you are referring to has to be pulled from the inside. The one used on cars rests at about a 45º angle in part where the truck is more horizontal in park or along the pan lip. My C6 came from a car and it was several years later before I changed the modified setup.
John, The bolt is out. I was able to remove the nut/lock washer and kickdown. This is the second "bar/lever". Once I figure out how to post a photo I think it will be easier to explain.
Alright lets try this again, red line is on the retainer I cannot remove, and the green line is on the arm/bracket that is cut. I want to slip the parts from Summit on the retaining nut and just leave the cut linkage arm. Sorry I dont know exactly what its called, and thanks for your help.
I was hoping a tranny guy would stop in, but I am pretty sure you have to get behind the pan.
I had my lever corrected when I had the fluid changed.
john
Hey thanks John, I was hoping for the same thing . I dont think I have a problem with the lever being there, nor the bolt, its out of the tranny like it should. I just want the "cut lever" removed, want is not a need at this point so if no tranny guy wakes up, shes going in this weekend like so. My linkage will be here this afternoon!
