what are you using for replacement pumps? new, used, brand, etc?
its gotten so bad,we're all turning our used vehicles into China made due to the parts stores only offering the lowest quality parts.

Does the fluid have shavings in it when you take it off? I've seen systems that were intentionally contaminated grinder sump trash run for 500-600 miles and still function normally. What does PEP BOYS have to say?

I put a cardone in mine and it is trouble free. Cardone makes good parts(I know the vice president of the company).

hmm, hard then soft again sounds like it could be air or a bent stabilizer. Sorry about your bad luck.

I agree with trying the Cardone pumps - I had an issue and was contacted by a rep immediately. Good customer service! Or upgrade to the Saginaw!

Okay something is wrong!!!

Did you flush the entire PS system and install a PS filter??

You sure its not your box feeding pieces into the pump (would not happen if you had a filter)

You made sure NOT to use a hammer to install the PS pulley and only used the supplied kit(Or nut , bolt and fender washer)

ya i flushed the hole system, didn't install filter, installed new steering gear box, and no didn't use a hammer to install pulley.

would metal shaving make my power steering go in and out and get worse when it gets hot?? cause it doesn't leak.

It really sounds like a bad bushing/tierod end. If it gets hard then eases up as you continue through your turn.

Also, I have heard of the inner liner of hoses to delaminate and cause problems. You might try blowing out (w/compressed air) your lines in both directions. If it did delaminate you might find it. A visual inspection of each end where the fitting transitions to the line is where I would expect to find a problem. Whatever it is, there are millions of system working, It's going to be somrthing really unusual. Good luck and let us know what you find.
