Ever since i sold my F250 V10 ive wanted something similar but with no V10. I have been looking for a nice 7.3 4x4 excursion for a couple of months now. Well, I'm close to getting this one but need a second opinion. $12,000 is the asking price.
Here is the bad.
Both seats are torn- Only the bottom portions
It has noticeable imperfections in the paint (offroading possibly) passenger door is keyed pretty bad.
216,000 miles - I can live with this. It's a 7.3
The seller let me know it was offloaded and driven by a kid.
Lastly the check engine light was on and he said he hadn't had time to get it checked. I checked it myself and it's the #6 glow plug. At first I thought no biggie cause it was just one. I've got 2 quotes for about $1,100-$1200 to change all 8. The dealer recommended all 8 be replaced? This is what has me thinking twice about getting it.
The good.
6 inch lift. Done right.
Nice rims and tires. Currently has 37in tires with good tread left
Very clean underbody. I'm not used to this being from Michigan.
Upgraded Turbo
TS performance chip
Drives nice. Damn it feels so much stronger than my V10.
It's worth 12K only if you have another 5 on stand by for that tranny. If you buy it and cant afford to fix the tranny, because if its original, it's going to go out especially from the way it sounds its been treated, sooner than later.
