I used to get 10 no matter where or how I dorve it. I have only filled up once since I change my computer, to the coreect one. I got about 11.5 and 95% of that was driving the 5 miles back and forth to work on city roads.
I tracked my mileage for about 8 months. Here's all the data I collected.

I think the most I got on a full tank was about 400miles. that was actually the first time I could afford to fill it up. :/

The bottom line is many do not have the odometer calibrated for larger tires and the calculations are inaccurate for many.
I am rarely on the highway without my 4-wheeler on a 14' trailer and get 11.5 mpg highway. The most I have ever gotten was on a long trip, windows up, compressor off ...16mpg. Yes, my odometer is calibrated dead on.
I am sure my in town has improved with lower shift points due to PCM repair but don't drive enough in town to check the mileage.
I also found gas without ethanol which lasts longer with my occasional driving.

Couldn't get above 10mpg before my timing chain replacement.. afterwards I feel like I have double the power and I can't get less than 10MPG no matter how I drive.
I drive it hard and nowhere near as feather-footed as I use to.. city/mixes is about 12mpg, I think all highway would get me about 14mpg, if I drove light I think I could push 16 (55, slow acceleration, etc).
33'' tires, 351w, 3.55s, ~220k miles.

I have been averaging about 17 mpg on my 50 miles/day commute to work and back with my '91. Engine is 5.0 bored .040 over with flattop pistons (abt 10:1 compression i was told) Crane cam mazda 5 speed, 3.50 gears and 32x11.5 tires. dBase timing is at 15*btdc with stock coil and Behlen 8mm high performance wires and Bosch platinum plus sparkers. Most of my daily drive is highway @ 65mph. Hoping front end alignment will add another mile/gal or 2 to the figure.
