Got my 26 year old Lincoln Welder running today. Yea!!! Had to rebuild the carb. When I opened the carb I couldn't believe the amount of granulated white stuff in the float area. It was so packed the float couldn't move. It runs perfectly now. I could use a new starter, the starter sounds sluggish. As long as it starts and puts out 110 and 220 VAC I'm happy. I will see when I start putting loads on it. It's rated at 8000 watts.
Evening guys.
Rich I hope it works for you. You should really run it every 6-12 months with a load so the windings don't go dead on you.
Well I am expecting to be out of power by the time I wake up so I wish you all the best of luck with the storm.
Hopefully it will all work out.
Never trust anything that bleeds for a week and doesn't die.
Got my truck parked in, what I consider to be, the safest spot in the yard and the service truck is parked right next to it because the only generator we've got is bolted to it.
My truck is parked on solid pavement up on the hill far enough from any trees that I think it's safe.
The chainsaw is gassed up and dry in the cab.
Tow chains and ropes are in the bed. (I had to cut and drag myself out of the area in that windstorm a year ago March)
Everything in the basement that I can get off the floor is up out of the way.
Anything remaining outside is tied up(down) the best I can.
Raincoat, rubber boots and flashlight by the door.
The local fire department came through around noon trailering a boat and telling everybody
"A state of emergency has been declared.
Your neighborhood is at risk.
You are directed to evacuate IMMEDIATELY."
My wife seems to think it's a joke, and yet, she is fixated on the weather channel.
???
Everyone stay safe.
If it rains for 12 hours and the winds are hurricane force there is going to be a lot of firewood laying around tomorrow.
Don't be under it.
Hurry up and get this over with. Let's get on with putting services back on houses already. Best of luck, everyone. Another day of generator installs, repairs and deliveries is over. Time for bed.
There's a church here in town that's completely shrouded in scaffolding.
For whatever reason they decided to leave it wrapped in the plastic mesh and tarps used to contain the dust and debris from re-pointing the stonework.
I fully expect to see that in tatters, or worse, by the time this storm passes.
Aaron, the dub is as bi-polar as ever when it comes to running! Hope all you guys stay safe! Let me know how the storm is, I'm always updating the road trip thread!
