The worst part about this storm... It was pathetic, not fun to watch, just plain annoying...and there are still 100's of thousands of people out of power. Thank you CT utility infrastructure. Not the best time to be on-call. I really wish I was still "stranded" in CO.
BIG LET DOWN! All we got in south windsor ( atleast my neighborhood) saw branches and leafs down. I went with my buddy to stafford and they got some big branches down and some power lines ( we accidently ran over..... ) But im tired of being in this house im going to take my quad out.
my grandpa lives in old lyme and hes up with us for a few days. his neighbor who is our cousin talked withhim early and said it was getting windy but not to bad yet.
Where do you live in south windsor? I'm there all the time, our shop for work is on burnham street and my uncle lives on graham road (broad brook). And im in Manchester
And just went out for a drive around town. Somehow we are the only street with power and no branches or trees down. Also just saw some wires down and a bunch of trees down.
well for those of you saying it was a big let down, need to take a ride down to the shoreline. everything is under water, trees through many houses and tress down EVERYWHERE. miles of poles and power lines ripped down. roofs floating in the water. beaches moved over seawalls and piled up on the houses across the street. metal guardrails ripped out of concrete and bent over. concrete benches set 4' into the dirt were all ripped free and tossed into buildings.
away from the shoreline doesnt have the flooding but still there are tons of trees down everywhere. my parents wont have power for at least a week. most of the trees that were rotted had broken, but we have a lot that were just uprooted. my parents deck looks like there was a load of mulch dumped on it, and also thrown against all our trucks. raspberries are all torn right out of the ground or totally flattened along with the hay. i almost lost my horse trailer, a 2' wide pine missed it by about 10'.
right now, we have a million candles lit, and my aunt, uncle, and cousins are here because we have a propane stove to cook a hot meal. after dinner we ill be going up to my apt. in wallingford, maybe a tree landed on my VW. my bike should be ok, i ratchet strapped it to a 8"x8" wooden guardrail post. it should be pretty flooded there as well, ill try to get a pic.
Been without power since 6am. On my short road i've seen limbs on power line in 4 places. I've cut 2 truck loads of firewood. Using my droid got a cell tower 200 yards from the house.
I live off Sullivan By dunkin and valero. Whats the name of your shop? Oh and i think me and lady friend are done for good. she keeps asking for more space. and theres no more to give without just letting her go.

Doesn't have a name, just the shop my uncle rents where we park the trucks at night and meet in the mornin.
