E4od direct drum
Need some help bad please? I'm rebuilding my e4od out of my 97 f250 7.5L and everything is going just smooth until I got to the direct drum bushings. No matter how I install the front or narrow bushing, press or tap it in, when installed the center support will not fit. I have tried several bushing but nothing seems to work and this is the only thing holding me up. Please any suggestions would help.

I feel your pain, I fight with that bushing too, I chuck that drum up in my lathe to get it to fit using some fine emery cloth. Before I had the lathe it would be a workout using a few bushings and sanding and banging.
Things to try would be to use a bushing driver that is larger than the bushing and drive it in flush with the top of the drum, this helps ensure that stays straight. You may have to work that bushing without the large bushing installed, once you get it down on the center support use a dead blow rubber mallet and smack both pieces while they are together this will help set the bushing to the support.
Good luck those skinny bushings can be a pain, I avoid changing them unless I have too.
