That's why I keep the instruments since the include the gear indicator and cable. I have 4 of them squirreled away.

Thanks to all who offered help (I'm definitely keeping this linked).

I got the part (2 actually) for free and just finished installing it. Works like a charm. And the key now rebounds as it should be (I think it was just loose).

And I got the clock to work perfectly too. It fits great into the bezel that I bought (from P-n-P) for 6 bucks. I also decided to paint the indicators for the speedo, fuel gauge, etc.

It's amazing how much nicer it looks. I just wish I had taken more pre-pictures of the truck. The carpeting I bought and the new dash top have made such a huge difference.

I was told by the current parts guy at Horizon Ford that he had retired several years ago.

Yeah, Ed had a stroke and retired a while ago.

I can't find that part new anywhere, I think a junkyard is gonna be your best bet.
