Replacing my steering column
Got a 1984 Ford F150 converted to 4-speed stick shift, the locking mechanism on the steering wheel broke leaving the indicator to spinning around the steering column which means it's pretty annoying to indicate and the key get stuck in the ignition if the indicator isn't in the right position. Trying to replace the entire column but I'm not sure what other years and models have steering column assemblies which are compatible with my ford. I figure any auto or manual column shift could work as long as it mounts up the same and i don't connect the shifter but i=I'm not 100% sure and I'm tight on money so don't want to by a part until I'm sure. Has anyone gone through this before ?

If you are tight on money do what I did when I converted mine. I took a piece of wire and tied the lever arm up under the hood where it comes out of the column. I then took a black piece of electrical tape and covered over the PRND21 in the cluster.
