It doesn't need Shocks!?!?
It doesn't need Shocks!?!?
Seriously! Look at these shocks. I went and bought some standard Middle of the road replacements and low and behold when I go to unbolt the first rear shock it comes shooting out at me still full of nitrogen. Well back the new ones go and on to another project I guess.

Just because they're a little rusty doesn't mean they need to be replaced. Shocks can last a good while depending on how the truck is used, how many miles, etc. If the truck still handles well and the shocks are doing their job, no sense in spending the money to replace them...
If youre looking for a project for the sake of doing a project, you could tackle that rear diff. Looks like it could use a good wire wheel and a fresh coat of rust proof paint! I did mine when I changed my front and rear diff fluids just for the fun of it

Ya, kind of the same situation I had going on with the spare tire carrier and my lower door latches. Every thing needs a good cleaning and repaint.
I bought shocks not knowing what if any thing had been done to the suspension on the truck. I'm just happy I can go return all those shocks..........Hey, I could repaint the shocks, now there we go!
