Introduced in 1966, the Olds Toronado came with FWD (Front Wheel Drive). Prior to this Olds, the last US car with FWD was the 1937 Cord.

The FWD Cadillac El Dorado was introduced in 1967.

The Toronado engine/transaxle was also used in GM Class A Motorhomes.

I first saw this car in a parade in Rawlins WY in the early '60s. It had two drivers and they made it go down the road diagonally then straight. It was rumored to have Jeep components.
