I just bought a 2009 XLT XTR super crew. I would like to know if I go to the wrecker and pull out the sync module and back up camera sys .can i install these in my truck and have them work.
I haven't had defects with my sync but I wouldn't miss it either and would certainly never pay for it again. It requires too much precision in the voice commands and commonly confuses one letter for another which requires you to start all over.
Once the conversation begins, all is good. I prefer to use my bluetooth and I can still keep my radio volume low and here some music too.
I don't have the backup camera but I can see a great value with this, especially if you're towing.
Just wanted to say, I've had no problems. It takes some getting used to but I love the convenience (hmm... maybe that is why they call it the convenience package?).
The only problem I had was my truck was running in the driveway and I was in the yard and I saw that my phone was ringing and went to answer it and it was still hooked up to the sync in the truck. Whoops. It has about a 15' radius around the truck...
