Yes the original batteris are still ok. I bought my truck new in June of 2002 so 9 years. Seems odd but original battery in my wife Toyota lasted a long time too!

I've ran Optima's for years and LOVE them. Believe it or not, when I had one redtop fail after 5 years, checker/O'reily let me upgrade to Yellow tops. I have a way with words apparently

I have been told that Interstate is the OE supplier for Toyota; that is what the dealerships install in Yotas.

I run and have been running Autozone Duralast Golds (1000CA) since 2007. They haven't done me wrong and have started my truck without fail. The times they did fail me were my fault (loose battery connections), even then BOTH were replaced under warranty without question.

Has anyone checked out Odyssey batteries? I have only heard of them, I believe, once or twice. The words were good, but they are awfully pricey.

I'm right there with you both. I get about 2 years out of my batteries, almost like clockwork. Because the way the warranty works, I get them replaced free on the first time around and then pro-rated on the next failure. It's about $180 for a pair from the dealer (after the pro-rated discount) and then my warranty starts all over again. This has been happening since 2001 and I haven't been able to get off Motorcraft yet because they are either free or still cheaper than a brand new set of another brand. On the bright side....the dealer always replaces them in pairs, I think it must be noted in their diagnostic procedure somewhere...
