So what is Walmarts warrenty on the batteries? As Neal mentioned where i live out here Walmart is actually located in the areas that i go for fishing and hunting. Makes sense if i ever get a problem with one.

Joe, I bought mine in 2007 and the warranty then was 3 year free replacement and 6 years prorated...at least that is what memory serves me . I have my receipts, that is all.
i buy where its close and easy to utilize the warranty. i have an autozone near my house and office, so i bought them from autozone. wal mart is be cheaper, but the potential PITA it could pose to drive a half hour out of the way isn't worth the savings to me. I also bought my batt's from autozone separately so i could get two points (out of 5) towards the $20 reward zone card.
I've heard good things about the Costco batts. They are, or were, manufactured by Johnson Controls.
I won't be buying anymore Autozone Duralast batts. Got 2 new Gold ones in Nov '09 and just had to replace one last week. Sure it was free (no charge within the first 3 years) but after letting my truck sit for three weeks I had a no start. The bad batt drained the good one. Autozone would not replace them both because only one tested bad.
Thoroughly clean the cable connectors and batt terminals and liberally coat them with some anti-oxidant compound like Noalox.
Robin, My Autozone Duralast batts. were only three years old when one failed. Our Autozone replaced both of mine even tho one was still good. I had to prod them a little and they relented.

I remember reading your post about that. No amount of "prodding" would get the store manager to budge. I should have used a cattle prod. I wish I had gone when the manager wasn't there. The clerks are easier. With both batts hooked up I still read 12.5 volts after sitting a couple of days, but if it becomes a problem in the next week or so I will do "something".
Leaning toward walmart. I did notice that firestone here had 99$ price for a good looking interstate battery. Close to my house but i dont know if they will fight you on a warrenty problem?
Im affraid i have spent some money at the DOC lately and its taking away from my truck fund!
interstate offers a very good batt., i used to offer there batts. at my shop. they are nationwide under warranty. but, i would spend the xtra $ to get lifetime warranty w/an optima BATT. depends on what u need ?

My Interstates crank harder than any optima I have ever had, (both red and yellow tops). I have also never had Optima hold up there end on there "lifetime" warranty.
Only reason I see to spend the extra green on a set of Optima's is if you plan on driving your truck upside down (they don't spill)

I run Costco Batteries in all my vehicles. They now are selling the Interstate Brand batteries with a 30 month replacement. I asked why they stopped the Kirkland brand and they told me that the batteries were always Interstate Batteries just a different label. Also found out that Interstates are made by Johnson Controls. It kind of gravels me a little bit that they lowered the warranty by 6 months but I guess that is buisness. Here in the desert I don't get batteries to last much longer than two years anyways.

Thanks for that info! My truck had been starting progressively slower the last few mornings and I got on here to see what batteries people were running. I have always liked Interstate, so when I saw that Firestone had that deal, I went to their website and sure enough, 99$ + 10$ "installation". Interstate MTP-65. 850 CCA. So I called the closest one and they had two so I bought them both! And I even let them install them. Saved a good bit too. I replaced my alternator recently so now I should be good to go for a while.

Yeah, you can't beat that price on a quality battery Wish they had that deal going on about 6 months ago
I'm running the stinger in the mondial and it's been great, we don't get more than 18mos. Out of a 72mo. Battery here in Phoenix so I started buying my truck batts. From Wal mart as they never question warranty and dont even ask for a reciept they go off the date code! And instant replacement
