This is what I have: 2004 F-250 late build with 178000 miles with egr delete done totally stock. The truck turns over but will not start. I have tried unpluging the ICP sensor. The truck has fuel pressure gauge shows 60psi. The scan gauge I have shows there is a linking problem so I cant pull codes. I thinking maybe the FICM has gone bad or the PCM. The day before it started strange like it was missing. Any help would be great.
May have found the problem. Was able to pull code p2285 which is icp low. That code was probably when I unhooked the sensor. I checked the FICM and got 48 volts when the key is on and 17.5 volts while cranking. I guess this means the FICM is bad? While I was checking the FICM the truck almost started. If I plugged the truck in would it start? Also when you first turn the key on the FICM would read 20 volts for about five seconds then would go to 48 volts is this normal. Thanks
Volts would be there on power up. Checking at the FICM with a meter I think I saw a flash of 30 something at power up but scan gauge goes right to 48. Are you going to re-solder, get repair or replace FICM?
I plan on using ficmrepair if I can get hold of ED. I saw this in another post and the cost of the repair looks good. I was surprised I didn't get a code. Anyway, thanks for this forum. Has anybody have any good feedback with ficmrepair?
I had a no-start condition recently, in which the truck started fine if it sat cold over night. Run it for a few hours, and back to a no-start again. No codes.
Dealer thinks it might be the High Pressure Oil Pump.
