Just got my gauges in today. They look sweet. Just wondering what some normal levels are for EGTs Tranny Temps and Boost at different speeds.
Obviously, there are variables, but I was just looking for something to compare it to. My tranny is at 125-150, which is right where it should be I believe. The pyro has green, yellow and red and I am well within the green at 400-600 around town and 800 peaking on an on ramp. Boost has me thinking, I am 99% sure I have some leaks. I have 0-2lbs of boost until I get to about 40mph. I PEAKED at 10lbs when I hit the freeway onramp. This seems pretty low to me
I have a e99 and my EGT runs about 8 under normal non towing driving. My trans temp gets about 50 degrees above outside air temp. I did add a 6.0 trans cooler which helps keep the temp down So today it was about 65 here and my trans temp was about 110. Boost is under 2 if just putting around but have had it up to 20 going up a grade pulling 10k. If I just jump on it without towing I can get to 17 or 18 on the boost. I dont' know if it makes a difference but I have read that the e99 has a smaller turbo than yours so you should be getting more than me and definately more than 10?
I know your more concerend about your boost but I paid closer attention to my egt today. I idle about 2.5 I run down the road between 4.5 and 7. Climb to 8 if going up a slight grade at 55 mph. I did not want you to think I was running at 8 just going down the road. Let us know how the new boots work out...
