TPS Sensor Adjustment

I run WVO and get the romps all the time, all I have to do is keep my foot on the peddle the slightest bit for about 10 seconds and the romps will stop completely.

The rpm's do not even go up with how slight I have my foot on the peddle, can I just adjust something, maybe the TPS, so the peddle is always down a little bit?

How many miles have you been running WVO?

The romps usually are a result of worn injectors.....and WVO can be murder on injectors.

What kind of engine oil are you using.? Switching to a syn like Rotella 5w40 will stop romping..You can extend oil changes to compensate for the increase in price.. your engine will love it..

Yes, you can switch without doing anything.. just a normal oil change.. If you switch, please report back on the results.. Walmart is good place to buy it..

Changed my oil last night with 5w 40. Starting it up this morning and the ride to work was definitely better than it has been with 15w 40. (3000 miles since last changed)

I always park by my barn, start the truck up in the morning and drive it to the front of the house to let it warm up for 10 min before I leave for work. On that little drive around to the front every time I let my foot off the throttle it romps once or twice. It did not do that this morning.

Once warmed up it never romps of course.

I will notice it the most on my way home from work as I do not get 10 min to warm it up, more like 2 min. So it romps quite a bit more in slow stop and go and until I get to the main roads.

So far so good though!

Great news.. thx for reporting back.. Rotella syn is good stuff.. better for your turbo too and you can use it year round. Are you still running WVO ? If so, it was not causing your romps, I would say..

Oh damn was I supposed to use synthetic? I used Castrol, not the cheapest but not the most expensive one. It was $19/gal at Walmart.

Yup still running WVO all the time, I think it was the oil too.

That's cool.. hope you used Castrol GTX Diesel and not the Edge for gasoline engines.. If you paid $19 a gallon, it's probably synthetic.

Yup I used GTX for GASOLINE engines. Crap. Now what?

I drove about 60 miles yesterday to work and home.

Can I just change the oil and filter again?

Drain Oil pan and filter like always, and if you want to clean the HPOP make a adapter that goes in were the allen plug is in the HPOP,use oring on the adapter just like on the allen plug, put clear hose on it and fill motor with oil and filter then run motor about 30 seconds or two qrt's in a jug or until clean oil runs out, put allen head back in and check oil level, that's the way i do it.
