Okay, so I just bought a brand new radiator for my dually 7.3. Now I need a fan shroud, it was missing when I bought the truck. Does anyone know where I can find one for my 92 F350? I have to say I've never seen a radiator this big out side of a semi...lol So I'm going to assume it's bad to run these without a shourd. I know my 73 will over heat in no time at all without the shroud. On a side note, can you believe I fit this radiator, still in the box, in the back seat of my 2000 mustang?
i just replaced the monster rad in my truck too.
i made sure to go and dump before i picked that thing up.good thing too.i needed the room.
i dunno how you got it in the back seat of modern mustang.i bet it went in a lot easier than it came out though lol.
I wouldnt mind going to the electric set up. I've seen the write up on your conversion. I have the v-belt system in mine so i have about an extra 1" or 1 1/2" of room from the radiator to the pullies. it was not fun stuffing that box into the mustang. its as tall as the door opening and the center concole will not allow yo slide it all the way in...lol I got it in...it was not fun...lol i just dont know how much i want to spend on the fan set up. not sure what a new or used shroud would run me. Too bad the taurus fan wont work. I know of a 98 sitting and rusting that I can "borrow" parts off of before it hits the crusher. I have the 130 amp alt off of it on my 73 390 right now. Might steal that off the 73 and stick it on the diesel. I just hate the thought of taking a part off that motor as I'm trying to sell it.
so I see....well it is a non turbo but i'll have to go look at the tag. however the heat index hit 128 today and i work in a factory with no AC...so as I am sitting here over an ac duct with a fan blowing on me, I'm thinkin it can wait till 6am tomorrow morning...lol I did not know they used 3 differant fan shrouds. I hope its the two peice...
I have been running mine without the shroud for a year now with no problems. The body lift made the shroud unusable. But then again my fan has never kicked in no matter what i pull or how hot it gets outside. The temp on the gauge has neve got over 210 either.
