Does anyone have any suggestions for a tranny temp gauge for my 96 F150 4x4 with the 5.8 automatic? I pull full size farm tractors on a flat bed and would like to monitor the temp of my tranny. Thanks ahead of time!
A tranny temp guage is a great idea. Just buy a guage of your choice and install. I brazed a threaded fitting into my tranny oil pan and then screwed the sender into it.
I put in remote tranny filter between the tranny and the automatic's cooler. The filter mount I put in has a 1/8" temp sender port built in. I put in an electric gauge sender in that port, hooked up the electric gauge and am very happy with the set up.
Check out "transmission filter" Summit.com or Jegs.com or similar and you'll get the idea.
