EGR Delete

What is anybodys take on a EGR delet kit for the 6.0's? I just dropped 1500 large on getting my EGR valve and intake cleaned and I really don't want to do it again.

Thanks

I did it on my 05 60+K miles ago and couldn't be happier. While my truck was in the dealer getting the EGR valve and cooler replaced.. I ordered the delete parts along with 4inch turbo back Magnaflow exhaust.

For sure take it out, Why deal with all the crap it puts back in yer motor and turbo, i did mine with just freezzzz plugs and a exhuast pipe expander tool so you can knock down the bypass ramp in the Y PIPE, Not all of the Y pipes have them. my 04 truck did not but my 05 Excurison did. just heated it up thru the hole that conects to the EGR cooler. then put the expander tool in the short side the expand it to close it up. just get it red hot and use a impact gun.

j540- glad you tried it because that is something i would never advise anyone to do. thats way to risky! and the delete isnt really the best way to go. i would have done a bullet proof egr cooler and a sct tuner to shut the egr valve off. its the same thing as a delete but everything is there. yes i know i have a delete but if i was taught better when i did it i would have done the bullet proof egr

Yes with the SCT turner would be a better way to go because you wont get the Check engine light. price wasn't a factor in my deal I just needed it right now so it was a time isue, But not sure about the risk factor, you have them in yer block. And they cant come out unless you pull it apart.

are you talking about the "little director sheild" in the up pipe? from what i am understanding you took that sheild and use it to block off the pipe to the egr cooler correct? thats whats risky to me if im understaning it right.
