A few pics

Hi everyone, just thought I'd touch base before dinner is on the table. I fitted the heater hoses ( no clamps yet), the other 2 bulkhead fittings are for A/C, the dash ***** are SoCal. Started a frame for the tilt setup ,it will bolt in the 6cyl position in the fenders to give the A/C condenser clearance.
Regards to all, Steve.

This thing just keeps looking better and better! I wish I had time for mine. Working the "wrong" half of the day, so I can't play at night. The dog growls at me...

How are you mounting the AC compressor?

Thanks for the kind comments, I fitted up the A/C compressor a few years ago, the truck chassis is '41 , I left the '41 front crossmember in (intending to mount the compressor to it) and fitted a '42 crossmember minus the engine mount tabs infront of it. The belt tensioner is Series 60 Detroit Diesel and being spring loaded ,will allow the engine to move without stressing components, the tension on the V belt feels right. I thought I'd be asking for trouble mounting the compressor to the cylinder head studs and as it is the engine has a cleaner look.
I'm now in the process of making some brackets that will bolt where the bumper irons go for the tilt front.
Have gr8 week everyone !
Steve.

Are you building some sort of skid plate for the compressor? I'd be worried about picking something up in the belts with it hanging down that low (relatively speaking). I'm sure it will clear the assorted speed bumps but you never can tell...

No chance of the compressor hitting anything, it's 17'' from the bottom of the pulley to the floor, higher than the front axle, tires are 7.50x20. Have a look at the first photo in this thread.
At the moment I'm still nutting out the tilt front hinge setup, I want to retain the original bumper and avoid cutting the front sheet metal if possible .
Regards, Steve.

I could just be paranoid about picking up something in the front. Too many years in the Army and off-roading I guess...
