Hi everyone, hope you all had a great Christmas.
I got the chrome back a couple of weeks ago, now the bottom edges of the stainless strip on the top of the hood looked like it would cut into the paint, so I filled the underside of the strip with Sikaflex..... this stuff sets like soft rubber. I let it cure for 3 days before fitting the strip to the hood. The washer
jet is '52-'56 Ford car, here's a few photos. Cheers, Steve.
What a cool truck you are building. I have used sikaflex for 30 years in my business and my hobby. Everything from boat repairs, filling weather checks in old truck tires ( would you buy a used truck from this man?), cracked and missing corners on windshield rubber, and I even used 21 tubes of the stuff on the floors of my '59 f350 layered with fiberglass window screen because I hate floor mats and the moisture under them. It's a great product and now I have a new use for it thanks to your post. I would love to see you work up a post on how you engineered and built your tilt front end. What an advantage that would be an aging motorhead !
Steve,
Sorry, but I think I read (Ford Barn Forum) that Job Lot was going out of business and that Chuck, from Chucks Trucks, was going to acquire their remaining inventory. So if you don't get a reply from Job Lot check with Chuck.
Your truck is looking fantastic!
