Morning everyone.

Hope your day has started out better than mine. LOL!
GRR...my son woke me up in the middle of a good dream (twice in 15 min.) so that I could make a call to the cshier because he'd be alone & he wanted to go to the store to buy breakfast snacks - donuts, poptarts, basically sweets! Really? I told him I was sleeping & we could go after I woke up & I'd take him since we live on a very busy street, but he didn't want to wait & kept bugging me & shoving the phone into my hand.
I've never seen him move so quick...I bolted outta bed. "Fine! "Are you happy?" I'm F-ing up!" "GO...get the F out of the house NOW!" I really need to buy some sheets of drywall or a punching bag, because I don't have any of my old cars that I used to take my aggressions out on. Ugh... pre-teens & puberty!
Thanks for letting me vent & sorry about the potty mouth.

No slacking here...I was up early to try and finish painting. However, this Sherwin Williams paint just doesn't seem to cover very well at all. That's even using their "SuperPaint" that has the primer in it. Most all of the walls I have either had to primer first anyway or recoat with a second coat. I purchased this stuff (more expensive) so that I wouldn't have to. Luckily I bought more than enough to cover myself just in case something like this would happen.

But either way, I'm putting the second coat on the bedroom today and then I'm FINALLY done with painting. Thank gosh! WOOOOHOOO!!!

Admittedly though, the house does look nice with all the new paint. Too bad it's all one color (beige), but since we're getting to short sale it, I guess it doesn't really matter and better than doing it white.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Check with Bill over in Arizona, he has a painting business, he might be able to give you some tips.

Awwww crap...I guess I should have asked that before I started painting last week! LOL!!!!! But I appreciate the tip! I'll definitely have to remember that for next time. I'm definitely not a pro painter. I'm not tooooo bad, but not a pro by any means.

All I have left to do are some baseboards, but I'm going to wait a few days to do those, so that I can gather some more energy back up.

**Bill** Any tips on painting baseboards? I'm planning on painting them semi-gloss white. Any ideas regarding taping them off so I don't make a mess? I was planning on using my 2" Perdy cut-in brush to do it with on a 3.5" baseboard molding over wood flooring.

Nice colors, beige/tan walls with white trim looks great together!

What you need to do is take your time masking off the wood floor, make sure you keep the edge of the masking tape on the baseboard by a 1/16th inch or so. if you have trouble doing that, you can use latex caulk to seal the edge of the masking tape.(your finger works best for this, put a nugget of caulking on a paper plate and work off of that. Caulking guns are hard to controll sometimes), this will stop the paint from bleading under the tape. and last tip would be to use a dry brush, wipe the paint off the sides of the brush, after your done pull the tape while the last coat of paint is still kinda soft. Blue 3M tape is the best.

if you have any other questions just ask... Sherwin Williams paint is okay stuff but none of them will cover with one coat unless you painting over the same color and the same sheen.

Hello all!

Just sent my request to join the Nevada Chapter (Live in Reno).

Soon I'll have my 1980 F-150 Ranger Lariat in the Reno area (Currently in Wyoming waiting for my Dad to tow it over) and will hopefully be leaning on the advice of this group to find some parts.

So if anyone sees a Silver Lincoln (with Wyoming plates) towing a Blue/Black F-150 (with Washington, or no plates) in the next month or two on I-80 Give a honk and a wave it may just be my Dad towing.

Thanks for letting me ramble!

Luke
