Hey steel head sounds like my head (hardhead) that is did the cooler fix the problem and did ya do a factory or a aftermarket replacement ? I thought about just doing the remote oil cooler and doing away with the internal infernal factory thing I hear tell it just happens again, I have back flush forward flushed ,unflushed, till I can't flush no more. Didn't help at all now yesterday I got the old egr code pop up. Going to do a egr delete anyway. So I got to go one way or the other while I in there.

cooler did fix the problem until the scale leaving my radiator plugged it up again.luckily back flushing the cooler brought it back to life.at 70mph unloaded you should be at 6-8* difference, but with variables and things it could be higher,or lower.when you flush again put a garden hose in the top of your radiator and have a clean bucket to catch the water in.put your hand over the radiator outlet and let it fill up,then pull your hand away and let it drain in the clean bucket to see what you get out of it.if you get scale flakes replace the radiator.

Thanks for the reply !I think I am going to the remote cooler and filter and deleting the egr I think that is the only way of gettin rid of a plugged up cooler from what I see and hear and it only makes since not to have to go in again to do the same in a year or two. All coolant systems are prong to some contamination unfornately ford didn't have a better idea! I have always flushed my prviuos vehicles on a routine basis and never had these problems. I agree with some of the class actions suits people are trying to file because of the costly repairs to this engine. Looks like about $2800.00 to start for me. Just got it paid for and the warranty just ran out Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I hope not to become one of those who say Ford Succccccccccccccccccccc. But I have been good to my truck it looks like it's a brand new 2004.
