Alternator issue
Hi All looking for some help. Got 04 f150 fx4 . The battery light indicater is on , I have change the Battery also put in new alternater. i have check the fuseable links they look fine. i have done a volt test on alternater as follows 12.8 volts truck not running -- truck running at idle 14.3 volts-- turned headlights, stereo, air con at full, tested at 14.3 volts-- left it running for 10 min all acesseries left on test 14.2 volts. checked the easy grounds , cant find any broken wires. im lost, cant /wont let truck beat me if i have to pull xx--xx engine will track down. any out there with any ideas. oh its got a 5.4 lt in it . thanks

It is usually a diode issue. The light is triggered by the single small wire coming from the alternator I believe. The voltage is good. Check the fusebox as well. There is a probably a small (maybe 20 amp) fuse for the alt. field.
