I just recently purchased an 89 f150 (beater) 4x4 with a 302 efi and the alternator went out. ibought a new alternator, battery, and drive belt, and it still wont charge. i took the alternater back to the parts house and it tested fine. i run the truck about 2-3 mile and my volt guage starts dropping. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The main things to look for with the engine not running.
Does the Alternator have power on the Two Black wires with an orange stripes (key off)? If no look for a fuse link from the alternator to the Starter Solenoid.
Does the Alternator have power on the Small Green wire with a red stripe with the key turned on? If no then trace this wire back through the dash to the charge indicator and Ignition Switch.
