I picked up a '79 F-250 SC the other night, and while gathering some data on it, found that the damn door tag is MIA. Somebody had apparently removed it when they painted the truck years ago. I've got the VIN and buck tag. Vin I've decoded already.
X26SKFA3478
The buck tag has some interesting codes on it tough
1-67BS 3478
LF25 3G1G STT B
FWD GT CARGO RS ACT
I'm assuming the following...
3478 = Front axle GAWR
LF25 = Long frame 250
FWD = Four Wheel Drive
GT = Sport package (steering wheel at least)
CARGO = Trailer of camper special???
Any help NumberDummy or others? I know buck tags are basically gibberish, but I know that some parts are decodeable.
Most of the buck tag is gibberish and no one that I know of can effectively decode them.
If you want a duplicate warranty plate or just see what info was on on it, you can order a reproduction from Kevin Marti or if you order the Marti report it has a picture of what your warranty plate would look like.
