I have a 1995 F-150. I have a window channel kit for both sides and am about ready to replace them. Does anyone have any adivce or tips for doing this?
Also I am having trouble finding vent window gaskets. The only ones I can find are for 91 and older. JCWhitney lists the part as 80-96 but thats not true. 92-96 are squared off. Anyway, does somebody know where I can get them? The local Ford dealership tells me that I have to buy a new assembly for about 150$ per side. Thats a rip!!
Not sure about a 95' but the window channel replacements if they are similar to my 89' should pop right in the the notches inside of the molded door panel on one side and I believe into the metal door panel on the other. I took me approximatly 2 minutes per door.
The vent windows are a pain in the %&$. I bought the JC Whitney type and they were very difficult to put in an really don't fit very well.
I have heard in some other threads about some who have had better luck with other vendors. Search the threads and I'll try to find the and repost a link here.
Just go to a junkyard. Even the high-priced yards rarely want more than $80 for a complete '92-96 vent window. If you find a mangled one, they'd probably sell you just the frame with the rubber for $10.
