Amsoil question...
First off - NO DEALERS. Period. I don't want a sales pitch - I want information. Besides, Scott (HorsePuller) will be sniffing around this thread within 30 seconds of it being posted, and he will lay down the law if it gets out of hand.
Back to business. I've been reading a lot of Amsoil articles (granted, about 80% are propoganda on the various Amsoil sites all over the net) about their extended drain intervals, and I want to know, does anyone here (who is NOT a dealer) use this stuff for 25K miles at a time? It seems too good to be true. One thing that doesn't sit right with me is the fact that if this stuff is so good, then why isn't Amsoil a household name? Why is everyone still changing oil at 3K or 5K intervals like a chump when we can (apparently) go a year without changing it?
Does anyone have any firsthand experience with this? I'm very intrigued by it, mainly because I really want the best for my truck and I'm willing to kick out a little more cash for it.
So what's the deal? Propoganda? Legit product? a bit of both?
