Is that considered part of the turbo

It turns out that I have a small crack in the exhaust pipe coming from the turbo. Will run 1500 to 2000 bucks.....I was told that I don't need to fix it right away because its so small and im getting more than enough boost .... if I leave it be... will it cause damage to the turbo or engine?

no, just get louder over time. You might consider fixing it before winter as well. You don't want to risk fumes in the cab with the heater on.

That is my thoughts.

Here is something else. I was on http://www.nhtsa.gov/ today and I thought I saw something about a warranty extension for that pipe. Maybe I am wrong but go there and look at the bulletins. It is not a recall. See if that is one that applies.

Here is the link to what I was referring to. Kind of don't think it is your concern based upon your discription...

The RH inlet pipe from exhaust manifold to turbo inlet is usually the pipe that cracks where flex tubing is located causing bulk head to become discolored with exhaust soot. The precedure to replace this pipe is to remove cab from frame or remove trans but if bolt was to round off its a difficult time to remove due to tight quarters. warranty pays me 6.3hrs to replace RH inlet pipe, figure cp to range from 8 to 10hrs labor.

Repetative expansion of inlet pipe at flex fiiting causes it to crack over time. For example if you were to take a piece of thin aluminum and start bending back and forth it would sooner or later crack and break. Some concept.
