What's up guys ....right now im in corpus christi and have noticed my truck is letting off a very high pitched noise sounding when I press the pedal from a stand still. When im idle it doesn't make the noise. My turbo has never made this high pitch noise before ....is my turbo going out??? The turbo is lagging but there as always been a delay. Power I think is the same and mpg is same from what I can tell.....
I take it the noise is only when accelerating? Coincides with making boost?
If you had a 6.0 I would suggest you have blown head gasket(s) and the noise is the squeal of excess coolant system pressure escaping from the degas bottle cap.
I wouldn't expect same from a stock 6.4 though; nor did you mention any coolant issues. Everything okay level wise under the hood for both coolant systems?
The truck is not stock...it has a dpf delete and programmer with a cold air induction. All fluid levels are just fine and normal levels..... the problem only seems to happen when I accelerate... I am making more black smoke then is normal... I assure you I do not a hot rod my vehicle as this is my office.... I do you feel like I have some power loss.... at highway speed I do not hear the noise anymore but I feel as if I can't get up and go when I need you
