blower motor upgrade
The second part is to use a relay to connect a 12v power wire from the battery to the fan motors positive power connection.
You can use your imagination and control the relays a number of different ways. You can have 1 toggle switch, or 2. You could control it with the factory fan switch also.
The main thing to get the high speed, is to connect the fan power and ground to the battery. It will blow 2 times harder than the high setting on the stock circuit.
Those were my findings anyways. I have been told by some wiser long term members that it don't help or shouldn't help, but when I flip my "Turbo Fan Switch" my 39 degree ac come blasting through my vents, and it seems to work for me!
We have been having 108 - 112 degree temps and with my window tint and ac, my super cab stays comfortable.
Old thread but I'm having an issue with my blower motor.
I"m getting voltage to the motor but it wont turn on. I'm assuming I have a bad ground but I don't know where the ground is located
Does anyone know or better yet have a picture of the ground for the blower motor?
1990 F350 if it matters

Does anyone know if a blower motor and fan from a 92 up truck will fit my 84? My buddys 94 crew cab blows twice as hard as mine on high.
No, that's not the question.
The question is "How much work and duct-tape will it take?"

Old post
I know this is an old post, but if you have a ground wire direct from the blower motor to the battery will this bypass the blower motor resistor and i will loose control of the fan speed?
If you supply a ground directly from the battery to the fan motor ground, it will make a huge difference in output. I ran one of these ground wires permanently but some like to use a relay on the ground wire.

Not the ground, no.
The blower ground is switched, with a different resistor for each speed. Add a relay, clean up resistor/switch/ground connections, add cab/dash grounds as needed.

Blower motor upgrade
The trick is to improve the ground to the blower. I have a ground wire going directly from my battery to my blower fan motor. That really made a world of difference in fan speed.
Next, I set up a relay with a big hot going straight to the battery to the fan. Everything works normally but I have a "turbo" fan toggle switch to throw the relay and run the fan directly off of the battery.
These 2 changes together, give fan speeds comparable to a modern vehicle. Maybe not quite as good, but I will put it this way, I stayed cool all day in it in 107 degree temps last week, and its a super cab with bad weather stripping.
Let me know if you want any specifics on this or have any questions.
