should be close to 5/16, but i would take a piece in for comparison just to be totally sure. If its algae in the tank there are a few things you can do but it will require an algacide or biocide. What you have is similar to an algae bloom and it needs to be killed off. I dont think gasoline would do this completely and then you are back to square one. Drop tank or keep it in, thats your choice but with the biocide products on the market, you just need to add it into the tank a few times over a few fillups and make sure to change the fuel filter often. Racor is one that makes a specific biocide that is used like a normal additive. Hope that helps.

Ok Iv spent the last 3 hours sloshing dieselkleen and fuel around in the tank. i have a 5 gallon bucket full or brown fuel it is no longer green what so ever. My next question is on my steel lines i couldent get new ones so when i put new fuel in my tank with the rest of the diesel kleen is all the s**t on the inside of the lines that i couldent get out gona gumm up my fuel pump again. Cause to be honest it would tick me off to buy another pump it would be pump number 3

Sanding daddys tank

Man o man so i emptied the bucket with all the brown fuel in it and thier was sand and rocks in thier. I dident catch this the first time i dropped the tank. well i know now and that would explain why fuel pump would be gummed up (clogged up) someone spiked me. I do have an algea problem. My children are 3 5 7 10 im sure one of them probly the 3 and 5 year old thought the hole in daddys truck needed to be filled in

i know john deere makes a chemical to kill the bacteria and algea in diesel fuel. i just can't remember off the top of my head exactly what they call it. if you live near a dealership that has the medium to large equipment (pretty much anything diesel powered) they should have it on hand. just go in to the parts counter and tell um what your looking for (something to kill algea in diesel fuel) and they should hook you up. if i remember right its not to expensive to get there.
