my truck grabs 2nd gear pretty hard and if your in it it hits 3rd pretty firm, i talked to the orignal owner today he said when he had the trans built there was no shift kit installed i thought there was...the builder tightend something up to make it shift sooner or firmer pulling a trailer? will a shift kit help this tranny any?

Scratch that, not E4OD.

Check TV cable adjustment.

I've got a 94 F150 Mark 3 that does the exact same thing.I thought it was a shift kit also, hel it barks shifting into 2nd.It'll move. So,if I leave it this way without pulling can it do damage?

Hm right inside the door jam closest to the bed there should be a sticker with all the info.

Do you have push button overdrive or is it 1 drive over drive on the column?

I'll have to look at sticker again.Push button on shifter.I don't use overdrive until 65-70 mph.I use 2nd gear around 30-35 on my road because it bogs down so bad.
