all the major parts stores dont list pitman arms. But car steering parts .com give the same part number for 67-79 pitman arms. Other sources list 2 different arms. My pitman is from a 69 but i want to hook up the matched linkage from a 74. So i assme i need the 74 pitman arm[2dta]. i found one with a power steering but will it mate with my manual box?
i pulled 3 pitman arms today , all 3 carry the d2ta part number but come from 3 different trucks and all 3 seem to be slightly different. 1 manual, 1 power steering, and 1 is from a 4x4. the manual bolted right up to my 69 gearbox. the other two will not fit. the two with power steering seem to be different also but not sure.

D2TA is an ID engineering number prefix, not a part number prefix. No Ford part numbers are marked on any parts after 1956.
There are several Pitman Arms with ID prefixes of D2TA. To ID them, the suffixes must be known.
Post #3 has the info for the M/S arms. I did not list the P/S Pitman Arms, nor for 4WD's because neither applied to your truck.
