1973 F-100 P/S Pitman Arm:(Help ND)

ND can you please give me the part # for a p/s pitman arm for a 1973 F-100.I am in the process of changing from manual to power steering and was told my original pitman arm will not fit on the power steering gear box?I did not realize this had to be changed.

D2TA-3590-BA

F100-F250. I pulled this pitman arm off of a Saginaw PS gearbox that was in a '75 F100.

You would need a 1-5/16" socket to remove the nut and a puller to remove the pitman arm from the donor gearbox shaft.

I have a 77 4x4 one, but it appears that won't work for you.

Thanks ND.I bought a power steering gear box with the pitman arm on it.The power steering gear box I would like to sale.I will get the part number off of it and I don't know exactly what years it will work on.It looks like a good unit with no leaks evident.

Well I found out today that the rebuilt p/s gear box I got from NPD does not work? The mechanic sad that it will not mount because it hits the manifold???The application stated it was for a 1968-1979 F100-350 W/Ford Gear.Part # F-3504-1. Were there more than one p/s gear box used on these trucks? This change over is slowly turning into a nightmare!

I took the rebuilt gear box back to NPD and got a refund. It turns out the p/s gear box I needed are all gone.I have a question about the power steering pump bracket. Is there a spacer used where it mounts to the 360 engine?

The application stated it was for a 1968 -1979 F100-350 w/Ford Gear, Part # F-3504-1.
No 1968 had Ford/Saginaw P/S. Some 1969's didn't have it either.
Bendix P/S: 1966/68 F100/250 2WD; 1969 F100/250 2WD before serial number D96,001.

Ford/Saginaw P/S: 1969 F100/250 2WD & F350 from serial number D96,001; 1970/79 F100/250 2WD & F350.

Thanks ND for clarifying these gear boxes.I guess I had a bendix unit that came from NPD.As of now I am using a used Ford/Saginaw unit which mounted up with no problems which I bought mainly for the pitman arm!On the p/s diagram for these trucks it appears there was a spacer used where the pump bracket mounts to the block. Can you give me any information or part # on this spacer shown?

The (used as an alternator) spacer is D1AZ-8A652-A a round block of aluminum with a center hole, that was cut to fit. (Motorcraft YS-30) / Obsolete

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 15= 800-476-9653.

That is not the spacer I was referring to.I was talking about some type of spacer where the power steering pump bracket mounts up against the engine block on 360.The pump pulley does not seem to exactly line up with the other pulleys?

Well,I finally got everything installed and truck drives very nice.Wish I would have had this done 20 years ago.But now I noticed a problem with the used gear box I had to use.It is leaking some around the flange where the adjustment screw is located of all places?I figured the first place would be a the bottom shaft where pitman arm mounts.Any ideas on what to do.The only rebuilt gear box I can find like I need is at Red Head and it is $300 plus $200 core charge?
