Broken shifter

I have a 1986 F-150 with a 300ci and a 3 speed on the tree.
I broke it tring to rock it out of a snow bank. What do i need to do to fix this? Do I need to replace the whole collum?

First, you need to find out which part(s) broke. Your local dealer's parts man can give you an exploded diagram of your column.

What do you mean you broke it? Did you snap the shift lever off, or the linkage to the tranny. Explain the symptoms of what it does and does not do. My suggestion convert it to floor shift.
