Do I need mufflers?
I don't know about Texas law. I just need to ask you a few things. What year is the truck? Is it for farm use? Do they have inspection where you are? How loud is it? If it is an ancient or farm truck, you're less likely to be in trouble for it. If they don't have inspection and it ain't excessively loud, you should be ok. Like I said though, I don't know the precise laws of Texas.
According to the Illinois vehicle code, both my trucks are illegal, my friends' trucks are illegal (cept for the Wirthmobiles) and over 3/4 of the county's residents have at least one vehicle breaking some rule from the vehicle code. Not once have I seen any of em get called on it, unless they had extremely loud pipes (shake everything within 20 feet loud) and were revving it up right past a cop.
