Im wanting to put a coolant filter on my truck only problem is on the upper radiator hose neck were all the kits say to install the supply hose I have a manual temp gauge installed there an I dont think tjere is room to put in a tee to run both off that port any ideas? also are any of you all running a ts chip from advancediesel.net?
You can install your temp gauge right into one of the ports in the filter base, there's 4 (Corrected) ports for this very reason. If it doesn't screw in threadwise there is adapters so you can.

Reason: 4 ports, thanks Frank..
I have the dieselsite coolant filter kit on my truck, There are two extra ports for a temp sensor. do you have a pic where your temp sensor is located.
I want to testify...yes brother and sisters, testify! I installed a coolant filtration system a few years ago when I changed over to Delo ELC (flushed and using distilled water). About two weeks ago I put on a new degas bottle and change the filter. The coolant looks as good (bright red) as the day it was installed in the truck. The old filter I cut open to look at it (first filter change because the truck only gets driven about 5K a year) and the inside was dark brown with a bunch of crud in it. Well worth the expense IMO (though I went the cheap route buying the filter head/Baldwin coolant filters at Fleetpride and built my own mounting flange).
Hmm seems like these filter kits are pretty popular. I just replaced my water pump a month or so ago. Maybe I will order one of these from dieselsite. Looks like it might be a worth while investment.
Not to hijack, but does anyone remember the napa part number for a baldwin replacment coolant filter. I saved it, but cant find it.
This thread reminded me its time to change my first filter.
EDIT:napa FIL4070, I'll pick one up tomorrow and open up the old filter to see whats inside.

This is what I pulled out of my first filter change I couldn't relay anymore than what Neal said, very important mod IMO, at the very least your saving possibly your water pump seals, and knowing your truck is thanking you.
I went onto the diesel site web site. Looked at the coolant filter. Seems like a pretty easy install. I also noticed they had a filter kit for the 6 speed manual. I am contemplating maybe just ordering both of those, and waiting on my rims for another month or so. I would rather do something to help preserve my truck rather then make it look a little bit better.

Does anyone else have the manual tranny filter?
Thanks folks!

Barney (bfife) does. I helped him install one last December.
