Well new injectors still had problems. Showed 4 cylinders done. Since it's a slim chance that the new injectors would have 4 bad ones I grabbed an ECU from the wrecker. Installed and truck fired up nicely. Still had a slight miss in #5. So I replaced the #5 injector and it is running good.
Also, through all this found that the cat was plugged. So that's comin off Monday night.
Who would have that a 150$ ECU would fix it!
Question, would the bad ecu have been causing the over fueling problems that led to blown headgaskets?
Does ford not have something that can check the ecu to see if it's good? If it's a computer it must be able to be scanned and checked for issues?
being that the pcm is covered if the left side battery box is there its not lilky to get coolant soaked.
as with all eletronics they do sometimes go bad.. but its not common at all.
