Please help, new injector - same code
Had an injector #1 reading P0263 Circuit contribution/Balance Fault.
Replaced injector. Truck ran fine for a day, then it started to idle and run really rough again.
Fuel pressure is 60 psi.
New fuel filter.
Just changed oil.
Oil level is good.
FICM is reading 48 v on startup when cold.
What could be the issue? I'm not buying more injectors. I may just sell the truck and get out of it. Unless someone can give me any ideas for tracking down why this would happen. I checked the injector electrical connection and it was fine, no chaffing. Is there a way to check it with a multi-meter too?
Please help!

I did the injector buzz test. It repeated itself 3 times. All three times I only heard 5 injectors.
I also have a couple glow plug codes P0673, and P0675
Does that narrow it down to the FICM more?

make shur the injector harness is fulley plugged in with no bent pins at ficm and all injectors that dont buzz
check injector harness for chaff
you could back probe the injector harness with a dvm for continuty on injector 1
sound like a ficm since not all injectors buzz

15K on installing a new motor....
and now your doing injectors on it...?
If the motor was actually "new" like you sad... if it were my truck it would be sitting at the ford dealership that installed the new motor. and I would not accept it back until its fixed properly.
15K would have been a nice down payment on a 6.7

I'll check ficm and injector harness connection in the morning, good idea.
My guy that installed the motor checked all the wiring and said it was good. I had asked to have all the wiring harnesses replaced. he said that wasn't necessary.

I just wish I could figure this out. If I could I'd be very happy!
you could check the solder joints Iv only read a little about the soldering and it seamed like everyone was trying to get the power up to 48 volts since you have 48 volts IDK
like op said even if you have 48 volts ficm could be bad like a bad ficm injector driver
If it ran good for a few compression probably ok
ran fine for about 8hrs. And when I say fine, I mean a little rough (190 injectors), but it sounded like normal before the new motor.
At the end of the day it started to lope real bad. Whether cold or hot it lopes and shakes.

no, it ran pretty darn smooth for about 2 weeks. In fact I couldn't believe how much quieter it was.
ICP is 0.9 volts at hot idle
can't remember IPR but I think it was ok. I'll re-check tomorrow
