How hard are they to put on, and who makes the best one? I was told about hell bent steel, but I am not sure? I got an 04 Ford F150 looking to level it out...
Auto Spring makes an excellent kit and is popular here. They can be bought on their ebay store and are pretty cheap. If you have moderate mechanic skills the install isn't that bed, usually a couple hours tops. You have to unhook some of the front suspension in order to be able to drop the front coil springs down far enough to put the leveling blocks on top of the springs. The only tool you'll need that you probably won't have is a large metric socket.I can't remember the size, but it was in the 30's.
I did the Autospring 2.5" kit on my 06 4x4 yesterday it took me 3hrs. I paid 86$ on Ebay. Very nice product Way beter parts than the Daystar AND the local shop was gonna charge 500$ to do this for me. LOL! so 86$ and a 60$ alignment is all i have invested. Major upgrade in looks
I installed a 3" Hellbent steel leveling kit and a rear add a leaf. Cost me like 160 to buy installed it myself in like 4 hours. Had to find some that would loan me a 33 mm socket or whatever size it was. It was huge. It was really easy I thought and I had no idea what to do when I started. Just looked at the instructions and went at it. The end result was great. I love it. I get some many compliments on how the truck sits.
I've got a Rough Country 2.5" lift on mine. was $100 shipped. Took it to a shop to have it put on and only took him about an hour, with the right tools of course.
