351w idling high

Hi all, I have a 92 f150 5.8
Have not had any problems other than the check engine light, put her on a scanner and keep getting a 332 code (insufficient EGR flow)
Anyway was checking the A/C yester day and removed the wires going to the A/C compressor. All of a sudden the truck idles high. Did not tug or mess with any other wires, did not mess with anything else, what in the heck happened and where should I begin checking? I put the scanner on it again and still just get the 332 code, nothing else.

Any and all help appreciated.
Thanks
Robb

what happened when you hooked the wires back to the ac compressor?

you may have a vacum leak at the EGR. get a vacum pump and test your egr. your haynes manual should have instructions. also check out Ford Fuel Injection.

has the idle screw on the throttle body been messed with?

A/C compressor--nothing happened and thats problem number 14.
OK on the check for vacuum leak. I did spray starter fluid around and did not get a raise out of hte idle but I know thats a hillbilly way of doing things, but I am thoroughbred hillbilly so.....
As far as I know the idle screw has not been messed with.
Thanks for the link I will check it out.

Thanks
Robb

update

Took the truck to the local exhaust joint, they fixed a y pipe leak and fixed the EGR to exhaust pipe.
Idle remains variable, sometimes high, sometimes normal. Cannot still quite figure it out. Maybe need a new EGR valve?

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Robb
