E4OD Help
The story:
I bought the truck about a year ago with plans on fixing it up. Po said the transmission had just been rebuilt and he put the dual exhaust on it... whatever who knows. It ran good but it did have a high idle and would lurch when it was put in gear and had a hard shift from first to second. I drove it around a little like this just the times I needed a truck. Making a trip with it this spring, I broke a u joint which ended up breaking the transmission tail housing transfer case adapter. I got that fixed and decided to start working on the other problems. I replaced the tps because of my high idle and it solved that problem as well as the lurching but it still shifts a little hard from 1-2. The new problem since changing the tps is a shaking around 45 which smoothes out until it goes into od and the shake is pretty steady. A tap of the brakes makes it go away for a second. From what I've seen on the forums this kind of sounds like torque converter shudder but it shakes pretty good so I wasn't sure as I've never experienced it before. I've got fresh fluid in it from when I had to change the tail housing but I'm considering trying to change it as well as the filter. I've tried checking codes on it with a jumper wire and get koeo 552 553 consistently and I've had it give me 621 and 629 but not always. Of course, those 2 are the concern. Cm I've gotten a 332. I haven't tried koer yet but will probably have to. Any ideas on where to go from here? Since the transmission solenoid codes have been intermittent I'm thinking I'll try to clean and check the connections next.
To add to this already long post, I've also had my a/c quit on me while towing my boat. Don't know if that's related at all just putting that info out in case some one can help. Thanks!
You have low voltage at both the AIRB, AIRD and the transmission solenoids. This will give you the shudder you talked about. When you touch the brake the computer will deactivate the TCC solenoid so no shutter while it is off.
