...ug...today we have more fires, people all over this country flooding and the rest being blown away.... or burning....seems a bit of a bad year for weather ..say a prayer and have a safe day !
Thanks Miss RacerChick for the info. My mom actually has one of those things. It works okay, however, you still have to use a brush to cut in and all that. So, that's why I bought the power roller because it had the cut in pad and also a corner pad. Plus, it has two lines on it, so I can hook the cut in pad on one line and the roller on another, so I don't even need to switch out. Should be less of a mess. So, we'll see how it goes. I'm getting ready to pick up the paint in an hour or so. They had to get some more paint from one of their other stores to complete my order. Hopefully this machine cuts down on the time it takes to paint the room. I'm hoping that the longest part of the job is having to do the baseboards by hand with a brush, but I can deal with that if it doesn't take long to do the actual walls/room itself.
Mat - I feel your pain! I have to paint my rental house still. I started on it, but gave up. What a pain in the A**!!!!! I think tapeing off everything takes the longest. The painting is the fun part! : )
I showed my son how to tape everything off & where to start, etc. , so he could do inside the cabinets. Now I have 1 cabinet (ceiling) that looks nice, & the rest of the kitchen cabinet/ceilings look like S**T with paint on the wood trim. He forgot to tape everything off & wanted to use a roller instead of a brush. UGH!...kids, they never listen!
We seem to be in some very turbulent times in our weather…we have many members of FTE who have lost homes, businesses and their livelihood to water, many who are in extreme drought conditions and now we have fire ravaging the southwest.
Yesterday Los Alamos New Mexico (where I grew up and my family is) was evacuated .....18k people gone because of a fire that has grown 50 thousands acres in just 20 hours
…. It was just 11 years ago we lost 400 homes in Los Alamos to the Cerro Grande Fire that fire was only 48 thousand acres…it took a month to get that big….this Las Conchas Fire is extremely fast
.....Take a moment today and pray not just for fire victims but for all victims,….. During a very turbulent time in America with Mother Nature
Good morning my FTE buddies!
Whew....monday is over, was a tough one, as everything went wrong......
But thanks Goodness the good Lord gives "do overs", as today is here.
Have a great day my friends!
Donna - Sorry to hear about the mess, but I understand. My 9 year old stepson asked if he could help me paint and I'm like, Uhhhhhh.... LOL Not because I don't want him to help or have fun, but I don't really have the paint to waste or want him to make a mess all over the floor and such. I'm careful on how I do it and I don't have to mask off almost anything if I do things right. Plus, I'm OCD like that, so I almost like to do things myself to make sure they are right the first time. I know that's bad and I'm just getting used to this "kid thing" even though I have been with him almost 3 years. It's a big adjustment from not having kids around for coming up on 40 years, ya know? So, I need to learn too. LOL
But I bought all the paint and supplies yesterday, so we'll see how things go. I just used a leaf blower to try and blow all the leaves out of the rocks and crap today and OMG what a mess! Talk about a pain in the butt! It's hard to try and keep those leaves in line with that thing! LOL!!! But in the end, I got it done before it hit 100 today, so that is an accomplishment in itself. Just hope the wife likes it. Now on to start painting the ceiling and go from there.
Tim - I do feel for everyone being displaced by those fires. Definitely not a good thing. I'll shoot out a couple of prayers for all of them.
