Hope you had a good day.
Tomorrow I get to (learn) help my mechanic pull out & rebuild Olfthfuls engine & get all greasy!
Thank God I'm not a prissy, can't get grease under my nails kinda girl! Hell yah... WOOHOO! Let's get to work! I think I'm more worried about my back hurting afterward than anything else. LOL! I have to work tomorrow night at the store stocking, so I know my back's going to be sore either way. On the plus side...atleast it's not one of those newer "no room to work" in the engine compartment vehicles. Gotta love the old ones!
OK Donna, I didn't realize that your engine was ready for a rebuild! Are you doing an in chassis rebuild or are you going to yank it and remachine everything?
OK Tim, but I have been told that effectiveness of a rain dance has a lot to do with timing!
Wife and I did a rain dance for Tim tonight, we then received 3/4" of rain in about 30 minutes. The dance has to be performed on location. Have a great evening and a fantastic Hump-day tomorrow.
Donna - I envy you! I looooove rebuilding engines! Have fun and enjoy learning how to do it with your mechanic. What type of/size engine is it? I admit that I don't have much experience in rebuilding Ford engines, but love rebuilding all the same. Wish I could drop by to help you out.
I've rebuilt a bunch of race engines and transmissions for my GM cars (Camaros, Chevelles, Grand Prixs, etc...) and always had fun with it; not to mention the pride of it afterwards.
Joe - Welcome to the forum and the addiction! Always great to have another friendly face here in the Nevada Chapter.

We're yanking the 390 out & rebuilding the top end - timing chain, cam, push rods, lifters, change manifold from 2 barrel to 4 barrel, Carter 4 barrel carburator, & new gaskets, etc! WOOHOO...no more oil leaks! We're going to pressure wash the engine & engine compartment, paint them & make it look all pretty for car shows.
I wish I had the extra money to remachine everything & get it balanced & blueprinted ,etc. Oh...if I only had $10,000 to sink into the engine. I'd have me a nice 8-9 second 1/4 mile show truck!
Champagne taste...Beer pocketbook! LOL!
