Anybody know if wiper arms on 53 are straight or do they have a small turn on end of arm? Having disagreement with parts company.thanks
Mine have a slight turn, and they are at least 30 years old. I believe them to be originals.
The Mid-Fifty catalog shows a turn as well, and refers to them as both lefts.
wouldn't originals be 58 years old?....or am I missing something (as usual)
Well, I KNOW they were on it when I got it in 1975, so I should have said they are at least 36 years old. That is fact.
I said I BELIEVE they are original, that is just my opinion.
My opinion isn't always fact. I've been wrong a time or two.
If they were on there in '75; I would say chances are they are indeed originals.....which is pretty cool because it seems like re-makes are just not quite as beefy as originals.
Bill,
Mine is a 50 F-2 single wiper. I have this little flimsy arm and looks like an old VW blade. What can I use? I want something that will do the job with a real wiper blade.
I have my originals but purchased some new ones which looked great but as mentioned above they were flimsy; so flimsy that they wouldn't wipe the windshield clean. I went to Carquest and brought some which has the strong spring and works great. They are stainless but not polished. I also get my replacement blades from them, Trico classic 33-122.

Do you have a part number of the wiper arm or what it was too????????
I don't have the part# for the arms, I just went to the counter and ask for arm for a 1955 F-100, they went in the back and came back with the arms & blades. I only have the blade number because I just replaced them last week and kept the package. The carquest near me has a wearhouse in the back so they didn't have to order the part.
