The Axle went with the Bronco. We set the frame back down on the axle.
A deuce can be driven on the road. Its not the easiest thing to drive since it doesnt have power steering. I drove between 20 & 30 miles in one yesterday & was fine other than it pulling to one side. With out pulling out a calculator & punching it, regearing the axles to 4.9:1 & running 11R22.5s @ 65-70mph will put me around 1900rpm with a .73:1od.
Damn, oh well. Well go for the deuce then. You could bob it and cut the back set of wheels off. Then it would be just like a regular truck.

That is pretty much my plan. Deuce frame, front suspension & steer axle. Take another front suspension & bolt it to a rear axle & to the frame at what ever wheelbase I want. 133" is what Im used to on & off road but with the SuperCab I want to run, a flat bed would be easy (even on a Ford frame). 155" is what a SC long bed is but I think it will be to long for some things like running trails & going camping. I think a wheelbase around 133" & flat bed will be plenty. IF it wont fit in the cab or on the bed, I can always drag a trailer.
If some of yall are wondering why Im wanting to use deuce axles its cause I have broke 1/2 ton stuff with out playing hard & a friend of mine has scattered Dana60s with a truck that is more or less stock. Rockwells are probably more then I need in strength but I would so hate to tear up D60 while running 11R22.5s.
Morning gentlemen. I knew it wouldn't last...my working days on the extraboard. Had it for a little over two weeks, which is rare for it to last a week. Oh well, hopefully I'll get another trip today, tomorrow & Saturday so I can stick 'em for another 20 plus hours of OT.

And I had a time explaining my 6 & 2 work pattern to a couple of friends.

Yeah, there are advantages to have a couple of days off during the week, especially if the kids are in school Though during the school year, I've been known to meet the kids for lunch and save 'em from the dreaded school lunch. Oh yeah, your the cool dad when you walk in with something from McD or Subway.

I don't have to hear the thunder, I've got a 6 old that jumps into the bed if it's storming hard enough. Then she tries to take over the King sized bed

I've often thought there are advantages to 3rd...no bosses from the big office wandering around where they shouldn't be As far as the drama...and here I thought it was only railroading that we threw each under the train (figuratively speaking). Though if I could get away with it, I do have short list of folks that I'd push under a real one in a heartbeat if I knew (A) it would solve the problems and (B) I could truly get away with it scott free.

Clearly I'm not playing hard enough Though I have torn up my fair share of "things" while at work. I just look at as doing my part to support the economy by creating not only work for the wrench spinners but the guys in the parts & fab business. It's a hard life, but I'm only one person...do what I can.
So, for the last year I've been posting my fuel-ups with the truck (actually all four rides are listed) to this site called Fuely. Not only will it figure your mileage (not that hard to do by hand); but if you fill-in the price per gallon field it will figure your cost per mile as well. Anyway, over the last year I've discovered it cost about the same to drive the truck as it does the Explorer. And better yet, of all the '04 F250 listed on the site, I'm getting the best mileage.
Had to crow to someone who might find it interesting.

I know that feeling all to well Thankfully my wife and I are on opposite weeks of the pay cycle. Doesn't seem as bad going from week to week instead of two weeks between check; though the money goes just as fast either way.

We were like that for 2 years. I get paid one week & she got paid the next. Now Im getting paid weekly. Making more yet the check book isnt going up. Might be that $100 in fuel I spent a couple days ago.
The fuel mileage, I have been keeping up with my truck since I got it & my wifes car for the same time. This last fill up I averaged 18.39mpg in my '94 (300 I6, E4oD, 3.08:1 & 235/75/15). Easy on the skinny pedal. 55mph max on roads & 60-62mph tops on I40. Its only a mile so the people that pass me can KMA.
For the first time in like 2 years I did some welding. Took the bumper off my 3/4ton, cut a piece off, mounted a receiver under the frame, put the spacer in from the bumper & burned that bitch solid!! Now to test it, anyone want to drop chains? $100 bill if you can rip the receiver off the frame rails!!
^^ That was a Facebook post of mine.
Didnt turn out to bad. It will handle what I need to do with it right now but I need to brace it a bit more if I want to pull any real weight.
This dawned on me last night at work while I was under a trailer. If I do end up building off a Deuce for a 4x4, why dont I keep the deuce transfer case cause it has the parking brake & a 1.96:1 low range. Then just use the Np435 & Np205 I have now & clock the t-case up some to clear the front drive shaft. I would still have a 'doubler' for the really slow times & the front output on the 205 could act as a PTO style set up for something.
Morning gentlemen, nothing says railroading like getting the phone call at 0330 to go to work while a loud & heavy thunderstorm is pounding outside. The crew callers asked me what all that noise was, I guess he didn't believe me when I said just a little bit of rain.
Becareful, if you had enough time on your hands for that..you'll be looking for a motorcycle or PSD next. Just ask Joe what happens when you buy one of those "spark plug-less engines". Though I wouldn't listen to too much of what Jeff says about 'em...deep down he really wants one of his own.
Since I've been back on a steady WiFi, I've had more time to surf. And with that I've been spending more time in the 6.0L forum trying to keep up with the latest & greatest problems and solutions. Anyway, in the last week a moderator has had to shut three different threads down. I guess the SuperDuty guys are starting to invade the peaceful 6.0L forum.

I should make a nice steel bumper for the back of my truck. I need a place to mount me pintle hook on anyways! I need something to hook to so I can pull them chebbies out!
Oh, and yesterday marked 13yrs I been in the Air Force!
