These two day weekends never seem to be long enough to suit me; I've reached the end of my ropes, I'm going to write my congressman and demand a solution. At least it's a beautiful 65F at the trailer this morning.
Anyone talked to our fearless leader lately? Last thing I heard from him...he was taking the boat out; hope it didn't become a submarine.
Hmmm... lots of cool old Ford trucks here to look at. Gonna take off tomorrow and make another run on the Dragon I'll think about all of ya while I'm relaxing in the mountains

We made it alright. Anytime you can take one out and put it back on the trailer under it's own power then it's been a good day.

Isn't that pretty much any motorized hobby? One of my toys at the house is batting .500 for getting back to the trailer under it's own power. I bought this for my 23rd (and later agreed as the 24th & 25th per-high pressure request from the wife) birthday gift, to myself....we're talking 10 years I've owned this thing.
It was used for track inspection, known as a motorcar...aka speeder or putt-putt. This type of inspection vehicle was phased from the late '60s into the mid-'80s by pick-ups equipped with "hy-rail gear". When I bought it, it was a basket case...or in it's case a truckbed-case. Overhauled the engine, freshened up the trany & axle bearings, fixed most of the wiring for lights & windshield wipers and painted it. I say fixed most of it, I keep finding little surprises from time to time (thus getting towed back to the trailer). It may only have a 20 hp Onan CCKB under the hood, but the car only weights 1100# dry; and I like to tinker with older equipment from time to time. This "toy" was one of the reasons I purchased the Pavement Princess. The Explorer can pull it down the road (speeder & trailer are 3700#) but the Princess does it faster and lower fuel consumption. When I was working out of Waldron & Nashville (AR) I hosted a group of these motorcars/speeders four years ago. Taken on top of Millwood Dam:
Got about an acre mowed in the past 2 hours. Still gotta get the trimmer out & go back to town for some stuff. This is so the last time I mess around until the day before a cook out to catch up on yard work.
