The day looks to be hot, most of the state will over 100....and with only 4-6% humidity we are dryer then a popcorn fart....praying for rain to help the firefighters. It was 76 at 3AM !
Afternoon gentlemen, hope everyone is staying cool and have a good weekend. Even Jeff, though he was the one rubbing our noses in his vacation just a couple of days ago.

Still rubbing But I'm headed back toward AR tomorrow, so I'll be back with the working folks in a day or two But on a good note, did win the Rat Truck class with the 53
Hopefully on Thursday I'll find out if I get to go back to Carthage or if I get to spend even more time in exile in Harrisonville. I did through a bid on Cotter, so maybe I'll get back to God's country.

That's okay, I go on vacation four weeks from today. I won't rub it in when I'm gone...probably won't be able to get online since I'll be trying to keep up with the "plans & ideas" of certain members of the family. Spending 10 days with family members, what could possibly go wrong?

I was thinking of you yesterday when I seen a '30s looking Ford "rat" blazing down the highway going the other way when I was headed to the trailer. With a closing/passing speed of 140-ish mph...I couldn't make out details of the car other than they were having a good time on the road enjoying the weather.

Certain things..... try too many things.
Cookout went good. Only 2 people went home hungry but they left shortly after the 3 grills were fired up. 20lbs of burger, 25 brats, 6 packs of hot dogs, ton of buns, 3 or 4 salads, slaw, & a bunch of more stuff.
Shortly after dark a Basset hound came around. She has had a litter & looks rough. Not sure if she was dropped off or was lost & had the litter & is just looking for food now.
My Doberman was fine with her around until I said something about her having a yard buddy.
Got question a camping trailer question. We've been looking at upgrading from the small man cave that we've had for the last 8 years to a 5th wheel bunkhouse trailer recently. The one we're looking at (Prowler 2952BS) is 6 years old...but well within our price range and in great shape. It's not one of those four season trailers though, which for most of the time wouldn't be a big deal...except this whole working out of town part I'm dealing with right now. How hard would it be to convert/modify the underbelly where the tanks & lines are more cold weather tolerable? About 2-3 years ago I looked at new four season bunkhouse; HOLY CRAP That was way out of our price range, and I haven't seen a decent one on the used market lately. We need a bunkhouse style of trailer because of the kids; there will come a day when I'll get to sleep in my bed at the house every night. Also, the family usually comes up to where ever I'm working every so often instead of me making the drive to the house. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one of those four-season 5th wheel toy-haulers...but they're even higher than the bunkhouses.

Holy smoke talk about a party! And quite the spread you had there
...ug...today we have more fires, people all over this country flooding and the rest being blown away.... or burning....seems a bit of a bad year for weather ..say a prayer and have a safe day !
Wellll..... I guess I shouldn't have rubbed so hard about being on vacation When I got on the interstate yesterday I noticed a strange vibration in the truck Sort of a flutter and stop, flutter and stop.... hard to pinpoint where it was coming from. Stopped several times, couldn't find anything under the hood, throttle didn't seem to change it, so it couldn't be a U-joint.... Hmmm..... frustrating Coming down a long hill I put the trans in neutral and it was still doing it, so I knew it was somewhere other than engine related. Jacked the truck up so I could get my head under and look... wellllll.... seems the tail bearing in the trans decided it was done Hmm.... not much chance I'm gonna pick up a tail bearing for a MB trans at a local Mcparts house in Podunk TN on a Sunday afternoon, so I decided to drive it until it quit and then start making phone calls Guess a MB trans is a little tougher than I thought, it made it all the way home! Now to decide whether to install the spare trans or just replace the bearing and seal
